SUMMARY: Installs, maintains, and repairs Finn-Power machinery, equipment, physical structures, and hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Visually inspects, installs and tests machinery and equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction. Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance technicians, to diagnose problem or repair machine. Dismantles defective machines/equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring. Installs and repairs electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Installs, programs or repairs automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers, and computer numerical controls. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other structures. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent, 2 years shop experience, 2 years Associate Degree in technical program, experience as service technician. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals .  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties.  Work requires lifting, crawling under machines, and the ability to lift 75 lbs.
