FINN-POWER LPe - EXCELLENCE IN SERVO ELECTRIC PUNCHING, FORMING, BENDING, TAPPING & LASER CUTTING

In 1998, FINN-POWER introduced the servo electric E series work center. It is the optimum machine tool for "The Sophisticated Component", with several work stages performed automatically on one machine. Its unique versatility is added to by integrated laser cutting in LPE 5.

The E series work center is fully electric. Obvious benefits are low noise level and energy consumption. Moreover, the ingenious combination of electrical servo technology and mechanical power transmission offers outstanding punching and forming accuracy. As consecutive forming strokes can be programmed to different stroke positions, intricate bends can be made on what is basically a turret punch press!

In mechanical design, the E series work center is traditional FINN-POWER: robust "O" frame, 20 station turret, fast index mechanism, fast traverse speed, fast turret rotation, extremely accurate positioning, compatibility with several tooling styles... all the features that have made FINN-POWER punching technology so well-known since early 1980's. LPE 5 features up to 200 kN (22 US tons) of ram force; maximum sheet size is 2530 mm x 1270 mm (100” x 50”).

FINN-POWER's experience in the integration of subsequent stages in the sheet metal working process is easy to see in our punch/laser combination.

The availability of punching, forming, tapping, marking and laser cutting capacity in an integrated machine tool means component manufacturing can be planned for optimum quality and speed of production. Whatever the workpiece, you can choose the most profitable manufacturing method, or the most profitable combination of methods. For example, when laser cutting is required, a pre-punched start hole reduces laser cutting time, no piercing occurs, and lens life is prolonged as there are no harmful reflections from the surface of the material.

This intelligent integration increases productivity. The intelligent way of engineering it is to use a dual frame system where the "O" frame of the punch press is separated from the laser equipment. Thus, no vibrations are transmitted from the punching unit to the laser unit.
