Remote Monitoring:
Monitor, Diagnose &
Troubleshoot in Real Time

Remote monitoring, offered on all new Finn-Power machines, imports a large quantity of information from the machine it is monitoring.

Finn-Power International now offers its customers in North and South America teleservice Remote Monitoring of all new machines.

Finn-Power’s optional Remote Monitoring contacts the customers’ machines and systems periodically on a daily basis. It operates totally independent of the end user and will not affect production or operation of the machine. The system imports a large quantity of information from the machine it is monitoring, such as travel distances for each axis, number of punch cycles, number of tool changes, various alarm occurrences, etc. This information is held in the database for each machine that has been monitored and is automatically analyzed by the system and by Finn-Power technicians in the event of malfunction.

Finn-Power will e-mail weekly reports to the Finn-Power end user in Excel file format, including graphics from the status and functioning of the machine.

Finn-Power will notify the end user of all future scheduled preventative maintenance or other incidents that could affect the “well being” or productivity of the machine.

The information from the Remote Monitoring is held in the database for each machine that has been monitored and is automatically analyzed by the system and by Finn-Power technicians in the event of a malfunction.

Teleservice and Support
A part of the remote monitoring contract is the teleservice and online direct support in case of machine malfunctions. The Finn-Power technician can connect to the customer machine, and view and operate the machine as if he were at the customer location. The Finn-Power technician can access all machine functions and make any service and repair to the machine that can be performed from the machine keys directly at the machine.

The teleservice connection can also be made from the Finn-Power factory support center in Finland in order to obtain direct online factory support during off hours in North and South America. Troubleshooting of machine down time can be accomplished in minutes to pinpoint the exact component malfunction that is causing the down time, even allowing bypassing of components if those components are not critical to the machine function at that particular time.

Remote Monitoring System – What Machines?
The Finn-Power machines that qualify for Remote Monitoring include:

  • All models and types from Series 11 Siemens CNC control and Fanuc 16I with MMC.
  • All machines from Series 10.2 with Siemens CNC control and MMC.
  • Installation charge for all machines below Series 11 will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

This Remote Monitoring System was introduced to Finn-Power customers in October, 2001.
