Finn-Power Introduces
New Generation of Flying Optics Laser

Finn-Power has recently introduced the L6 - a new generation flying optics laser. The L6 features innovative linear drive motor technology to allow maximum speeds even in small notches or narrow contours.

The Finn-Power L6 can process sheet sizes up to 60"x120" (1,565 mm x 3,074 mm) and up to 0.78" (20 mm) thickness. It enhances laser cutting for various material thickness and material types. Performance values include positioning speed of 11,811" (300 m/min), acceleration over 2g and cutting speeds up to 2,362"/min (60 m/min). Unlike conventional repositioning, where the straight line movements of the cutting head consume time, Finn-Power optimizes the cutting head movement with Ping Pong repositioning.

In addition, L6 is a compact machine with the resonator and CNC built into the structure.

It is also designed with the following features for enhanced flexibility and efficiency.

Linear Drive Technology for High Speeds

The positioning technology of the flying optics L6 is based on digitally-controlled linear drive motors.

  • Finn-Power's frame construction eliminates the technical problems sometimes associated with linear drives - the risk of contamination and heat generation.
  • Extremely high speeds are possible due to low friction and direct drive system.
  • Rigid frame design is patented by Finn-Power. The frame withstands all the forces of high-speed positioning and provides a solid base for stable beam delivery optics.

Up to 4 kW Laser Power

Finn-Power L6 features a 4 kW fast axial flow CO2 laser. With N2 gas cutting speeds up to 2,362"/min (60 m/min) are reached. The L6 laser resonator is OEM-designed in close cooperation with Finn-Power to assure it meets all the quality and performance requirements of the high-performance laser cutting center. Laser beam path protection is continuously pressurized by specially filtered and dried air. Constant cutting quality and cutting parameters are maintained by integrated adaptive optics. Fast laser power measurement has been integrated. The resonator has an extended preventative maintenance interval.

Extreme Accuracy

The Finn-Power Laser L6 uses digitally controlled linear drive motor technology to allow high-speed operation, high acceleration, as well as the highest accuracy for any contour or shape. Positioning accuracy is verified for each system according to Finn-Power´s factory standard LKP 7500.

Auto Focus Cutting Head

To minimize set-up time, an advanced, high-pressure cutting head is integrated into the system. A constant distance between material surface and the nozzle is achieved with a non-contact, capacitive, integrated sensing unit. The cutting head does not have to change when a focal lens change is required. Only a new lens cartridge has to be inserted.

Compact, Modern Design

The Finn-Power L6 looks as modern as it is technically advanced. It is part of Finn-Power's new technology range, designed also to contribute favorably to the visual installation environment.

Material Flow for Productive Flexibility

The productivity of the cutting system is increased by an automatic shuttle table system that allows loading and unloading of the material during the cutting operation.

Positioning of the shuttle tables is possible on two sides of the machine to match plant layout or production flow requirements. Loading, unloading and material change can be automated by Finn-Power's new solution.
