New Generation C5 and
Compact Express for Lean Manufacturing
 Finn-Power
recently introduced the C5 Compact Express. The C5 Compact
Express adds unmanned operation to the C5 versatility through
highly compact load/unload automation. It is fast, with simultaneous
loading and unloading during processing, accurate, and it
does not limit easy manual operation. The integrated unloading
table features a space-saving design. The robust structure
adds enhanced process stability.
The 20-station, 33-ton C5
hydraulic turret punch press has a maximum sheet capacity
of 50"x100" (1270 mm x 2500 mm) and is available with either
Siemens or Fanuc controls. This new press combines Finn-Power's
20-year track record in hydraulic turret punch press design
and engineering with new features to provide its customers
with enhanced versatility, high performance, and ease of
operation and maintenance.
In addition to such standard
Finn-Power features as programmable hydraulics, universal
tool holders, a unique auto index system, Multi-Tool® stations,
and programmable clamp settings, the Finn-Power C5 turret punch press is also
designed with the following new features for enhanced flexibility and efficiency:

Super
fast servo
hydraulic punching - Nibbling speeds up to 1100 hpm. The servo-controlled ram, stroke speed, and position are fully and individually adjustable in both directions.
Indexable
upforming - Unique to the C5 turret punch press, complex forming operations can be made quickly by using a single forming tool. An index mechanism is used to turn the forming tool into an NC programmed angle.
Easy
loading - Four optimally-positioned gauge pins allow easy loading of blanks or full-size sheets. Sheet loading is performed with a simple push and always close to the table edge. Sheet supports rise from the table to allow easy positioning of heavy material.
Efficient
unloading - The C5 delivers the processed components to a freely programmable position on the table, increasing the operator's efficiency.
Catch & carry work chute - Allows the reception of several components as large as 19.7"x19.7" and subsequent stacking
The entire material flow on the C5 can be conducted from just one side. This allows simple and efficient logistics and enables the machine to be positioned anywhere on the shop floor - even in a corner.
Compact Express

manufacturing environment, quick response to different job
requirements is vital for fabrication equipment. The Compact
Express offers four-in-one capability for different manufacturing
tasks:

The Compact Express loading / unloading solution utilizes the space above and below the machine and machine tables. Thus, a full Flexible Manufacturing Unit requires only slightly more space than a turret punch press.
