Finn-Power in the Spotlight
Finn-Power sheet metal fabrication technology and our customers continue to attract a great deal of attention from trade publications throughout North America:
 |
FAB
CANADA (July)
Ran a full-page article on Brazilian customer Semeato's installation of the Finn-Power laser - Brazilian Farm Equipment Manufacturer Reaps What It Sows. "On
thin material, we have experienced a 70 percent
increase in productivity over our other laser." |
 |
METAL
FORMING (September)
Featured a 3-page article on the Shear Genius and Express Bender applications at Peerless Electric Co. Ltd., Montreal, Quebec. "Peerless
Electric custom builds about 60% of its lighting
products. A newly-installed turret punch
press and shear combo, along with automated
complex bending capability, reduces time
needed to manufacture these tricky parts
by 60 percent while saving material and manpower." |
PIQ (September)
This French-language
Canadian magazine published another version
of the Peerless Electric article. “We
purchased the Shear Genius and Express Bender
to facilitate our Just in Time (JIT) production
and to eliminate the levels of our work in
process (WIP) inventories.” |

FAB
CANADA (October)
Quoted Finn-Power's Jeff Fisher, punching product manager,
and Bob Kolcz, director, marketing & corporate communications, in the article Punch Presses: Is Automation the Answer? "Updating inefficient machines and manufacturing methods, avoiding bottlenecks in
production instituting diligent preventative maintenance programs and providing
proper operator training can all spell the difference between profit and
loss. New equipment technology has been the lifeline to growth for sheet
metal fabricators. Equipment and tooling manufacturers continue to make
tremendous strides in developing new machines and tooling that are not
only more accurate and cost efficient, but also capable of eliminating
secondary operations while performing functions thought to be impossible
just a few years ago." (see
web article). |

INDUSTRIAL LASER SOLUTIONS (October)
Published a 3-page article on the LPE application at BMP Metals, Inc., Brampton, Ontario. "When the LPE arrived, we called it our Star Wars machine because it did so many things. It can do laser cutting, punching, nibbling, upforming, marking, tapping, bending, sorting, and stacking - all
unattended, all in a single setup." |
 |
MODERN APPLICATION NEWS (October)
Reprinted versions of an article on robotic automation for press brakes that ran in the July, 2004 issue of the FINN-ISH LINE. "As
the economy makes a slow recovery and foreign competition, particularly
in China, continues to maintain momentum, domestic shops are realizing
that robots are more than just a piece of manufacturing equipment." |

TOOLING & PRODUCTION
(November)
Featured a 2-page article on the Finn-Power laser and hydraulic press brake at Semeato, a Brazilian farm equipment manufacturer. "On
our old laser, making 52 of these parts on
a sheet 3 meters x 1-1/2 meters would take
three hours. We do it in 20 minutes on the
Finn-Power." |
