Taking Care of Business."Job Shop"
Theme Comes to Life at FABTECH

Finn-Power's booth at FABTECH 2004, October 26-28 at Cleveland's I-X Center, was rather hard to miss. The theme included a job shop environment mixed with a little "rock'n roll" in recognition of Cleveland's Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

The booth was designed to bring a job shop concept to life. This was accomplished by creating a "job shop" atmosphere, while the C5 Compact Express and E electric press brake fabricated actual production parts for a Finn-Power customer. To add a realistic look to the booth, a large background mural of an assembly area at KSO Metalfab, Inc., a Finn-Power job shop customer located in Streamwood, IL, ran the width of the booth. The FABTECH show marked the North American debut for Finn-Power's C5 Compact Express - turret punch press with load/unload.

A special recognition of appreciation goes to the three Finn-Power employees who worked non-stop during FABTECH to produce the parts: Juha Pentikainen, technical sales support manager, Jack Leedy, applications engineer, and Paul Spaulding, service engineer. "It was very exciting to create an actual job shop environment for the show," explains Pentikainen, who manually bent parts during most of the show. "It gave the visitors to our booth a sense of reality to how our machines perform under actual production conditions. However, next year I am recommending that we bring a robotic press brake to the show."

Frank Bowman, executive producer for Muddville Productions (left), attracted a lot of attention when he played the 55-gallon drum to the tunes, "Taking Care of Business" and "Get a Job." Corporate presenter Jennifer Enskat, helped tame the drummer while giving visitors a brief description of the Finn-Power equipment.

Finn-Power International created a job shop environment at its FABTECH booth in Cleveland by fabricating production parts on the C5 Compact Express and the E Electric Press Brake.
