Finn-Power in the Spotlight
Finn-Power sheet metal fabrication technology and its customers continue to attract a great deal of attention from trade publications throughout North America:

METALFORMING (January)
Editor Brad Kuvin wrote a 4-page
article - Metalforming Thrives in Finland and Italy
- on his experiences while participating in Finn-Power's
Editor Technology Trip last fall. The article includes
Kuvin's observations of European fabricating and
the reasons for automating the sheet metal fabrication
process. "Automation with a capital 'A' has
several European sheetmetal-fabrication shops gracefully
moving sheets through shearing, laser-cutting,
punching and bending operations with minimal operator
intervention, enhancing productivity and quality." (see
web article) |

APPLIANCE
MANUFACTURER (March)
Also reprinted Andrew
McCarlie's article - On
a Roll...Rolling tool forming/etching
technologies enhance turret punch press - in
its March issue. "An innovative alternative
to stamping - depending on the type and size
of form - is the use of an offset roller ball,
or wheel technology tool, in the Auto-Index station
of a digitally (servo) controlled, adjustable
ram hydraulic or servo-electric turret punch
press." |

(February)
Published a 2-page by-lined article by Finn-Power's Andrew McCarlie, applications engineer, titled Pressing
Issues in Emboss Production. The article first appeared in the December, 2003 issue of The FINN-ISH LINE. "What
is a secondary operation of customer
part making for logos, features, or numbering
can be done in the same work center as
the punching, forming, shearing, or laser
cutting."

METALWORKING PRODUCTION & PURCHASING
(April/May)
Ran a shortened
version of the Peerless Electric article
(see web article). "We

Bender to facilitate our Just in Time
(JIT) production and to eliminate the
levels of our work in process (WIP)
inventories"

TOOLING & PRODUCTION
(May)
Editor
in Chief Jim Lorincz wrote a thought-provoking,
3-page article - The New
Way is Advanced Automation. You don't
stop the Night Train at Nu-Way.
In the article, Lorincz explores the
reason that Chicago-based Nu-Way invested
in the latest sheet metal fabrication
technology in order to stay competitive (see
web article).
