LEAN MANUFACTURING SEMINAR
Finn-Power International,
Inc. will host a 2-day Lean Manufacturing Seminar
on January 22-23 2004.
The featured speaker will be Gary Connor, president
of Lean Enterprise Training.
Over the last 10 years, Connor has worked in dozens
of industries, with over 50 different companies and
thousands of unforgettable people as a contract trainer
and Lean Manufacturing consultant.
Connor spent the last 20 years participating in all
aspects of manufacturing. From machine operator to
Quality Assurance Manager. From J.I.T. (Just in Time)
Team Leader, to College Instructor. From Training Coordinator,
to ISO 9000 lead auditor.
He has authored a number of technical
books on the subject of Lean Manufacturing. The last
book 'Lean
Manufacturing for the Small Shop' was awarded the Shingo
Prize in April 2002. The Shingo Prize named after the
famous Japanese engineer Shigeo Shingo, is awarded
once every year, and is considered the Nobel prize

Prior
to consulting, Connor spent four years as a college
instructor for a community college in Oregon. Under
a grant from the Oregon Precision Metal Fabricators
Association, he helped to develop curriculum and instruct
an Associate Degree program for Precision Sheet Metal
Technology ( Clackamas Community College, Oregon City.)
He has planned and facilitated over 300 Kaizen events
including set-up reduction, waste reduction, quality
improvement, cellular layout, facilities layout, ISO
9000 implementation, Team training, and In House Training
(Train-the-Trainer) projects.
Connor has addressed trade associations and organizations
such as SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers), Productivity
Inc., Shingo Awards, Baldrige Awards, etc.
