C5
Turret Punch Press Makes North American Debut
Finn-Power
International's booth at FABTECH 2003, held in Chicago's
McCormick Place on November 16-19, created a "rumble
in the jungle" and had curious visitors filling the aisles
to catch the action.
The Finn-Power booth was designed to bring
the company's Survivor ad to life. It accomplished this
by creating a jungle environment, complete with tropical
trees and vegetation, bamboo paneling, tropical
birds, animal images and sounds, recorded music, a live
conga drum solo, and both live and videotaped presentations.
Approximately every 15 minutes, a live show demonstrated
how Finn-Power machines, cells, and systems can not only
help fabricators survive, but prosper in any market condition.
The net result was hundreds of enthusiastic visitors to the
Finn-Power booth during the four-day show.

FABTECH 2003 was the forum
for the North American introduction of the Finn-Power
C5 hydraulic turret punch press. |
|
The booth also turned a lot of heads by being
the forum for the North American debut of Finn-Power's latest "survivor" tool - the
C5 hydraulic turret punch press.
"FABTECH 2003 was extremely successful for
Finn-Power," says president Mikko Lindström. "Sometimes you
must 'think outside the jungle' to communicate with your
market. We sold numerous machines & cells and hope that
this is a precursor to better days ahead for the entire fabricating
industry."
The
Finn-Power FABTECH booth attracted hundreds of visitors
each day of the show. The booth was designed to bring the
company's Survivor ad to life. It accomplished this by

The
Finn-Power FABTECH "Survivor" Team
The Finn-Power FABTECH "Survivor" Team
included (from left to right): Tiina Alanko, production
assistant; Shawn Payton, video/sound/lighting technician;
presenters Shelly Lawler and Heidi Miller; Frank
Bowman, Impact Creative Group director & conga
player; Bob Kolcz, writer/producer. |
|
|
|
| Two other important team members spent
most of the show at the Finn-Power "base camp." Darrell
Baker, applications engineer (left photo) teamed up
with Shelly through the magic of Finn-Powervision to
present the company's latest developments in laser
and bending technologies. Geoff Earl, service engineer
(right photo) was paired with Heidi to inform the visitors
on the features and benefits of the Finn-Power turret
punch press and flexible manufacturing technology. |
|
|
| Shelly Lawler explains the C5's efficient unloading
to freely programmable positions on the table. Contrary
to a rumor circulating during FABTECH, "grass skirting" for
the table is not an option on the new C5 turret punch
press! |
| Heidi Miller demonstrates the indexable upforming
that is available only on the Finn-Power C5 turret
punch press. Complex forming operations can be made
quickly by using only a single forming tool. |
|
 |
|
| Conga player Frank Bowman
is known to march to a different drummer and often
had to be coaxed off stage to allow the product presentation
to begin. |
