Customers & Editors Experience World-Class Sheet Metal Fabrication
Last March, Finn-Power sponsored another successful Technology Trip to Italy and Finland. The group consisted of 19 customers, six Finn-Power distributors and was led by Mikko
Lindström, president; Patrick Canning, vice president; and regional sales managers Peter Burrell and Rob Flauter.

Finn-Power’s latest Technology Trip included 19 customers and six Finn-Power distributors. The group visited Finn-Power’s production facilities in Italy and Finland, as well
as numerous customer operations.

The group was able to visit Finnish sheet metal fabricators of all sizes to see utilization of
Finn-Power machines and flexible manufacturing cells and systems.

This trip provided customers the opportunity to obtain a “behind-the-scenes” look at Finn-Power manufacturing facilities in Italy and Finland. In addition, by visiting several
Finn-Power customer locations, the group was able to see firsthand how production facilities of all sizes utilize Finn-Power’s wide range of sheet metal fabrication technology and automation.
While in Italy, the group visited Finn-Power Italia’s recently expanded facility in Cologna Veneta to get an in-depth look at Finn-Power’s line of automated Express Benders. The group
also visited several Finn-Power customers, including Otis Elevator, ABB Sace, Iltom, and Inox Venata. One of the highlights was being able to view Iltom’s 110 meter long Night Train which has a Shear Genius FMC;
three stand alone turret punch presses; a LP6 FMC; two automated benders; and a FPL 6 laser all integrated into the system.

After three days in Italy, the group flew to Finland where they toured Finn-Power’s Härmä sheet metal and component manufacturing plants, and the Kauhava assembly plant. Here
customers were able to see how Finn-Power uses its own flexible manufacturing equipment for manufacturing Finn-Power products. At Finn-Power’s World Training Center they were able to view the latest in Finn-Power
technology including the new LPE.
The group was also able to visit Finnish fabricators Incap Oy, an electronics firm; Koja Oy, manufacturer of HVAC products; and Lakeuden Levytyö Oy, a job shop.
EDITOR TOUR Last May, Scot Stevens, publisher of The Fabricator, and David Belforte, editor, Industrial
Laser Solutions for Manufacturing, visited Lillbacka manufacturing facilities and customers throughout Finland. Hosted by Bob Kolcz, director, marketing & corporate communications, Finn-Power International,
Inc., and numerous Lillbacka employees, the group toured the following Finn-Power customers:
- Helkama Forste Oy
A refrigeration company that operates two Shear Genius flexible manufacturing cells with automated material management
- Halton Oy
A company that produces HVAC equipment and exhaust hoods for marine galleys and pantries. Halton utilizes Finn-Power’s FPL-6.
- GWS Pikval
A commercial furniture manufacturer that uses the Finn-Power Laser Punch (L+P) FMC
- GWS Systems
A leading manufacturer of intelligent ergonomic workstations, flexible production systems, and workshop products. GWS uses Finn-Power’s Shear
Genius 6 with automatic storage capability.
- Flextronics
Formerly known as the Ojala Group, a major producer of telecommunications parts for such companies as Nokia, the facilities include Finn-Power’s Night
Train FMS and E5 Work Centers.
